Halloween Ghosts

Here's a fun craft that can easily be done with kids.

Materials:
1. A few water balloons inflated with air.
2. Narrow drinking cups (kids cups or plastic disposable cups work great)
3. Cheesecloth cut into a perfect square (I went with 1 ft.). The size depends on how tall you want the ghost to be and how much draping preferred.
4. Fabric Stiffening Glue (such as Crafter's Pick sold at Michael's)
5. Wax Paper
6. Spong Brush
7. Glue gun
8. Accessories including googly eyes
9. Glow-in-the-dark spray paint (optional)
Fan

  • Place balloons in cups (the balloons will form the head of your ghost). Place cups on wax paper.
  • Spread wax paper over a table.
  • Lay the cheesecloth cuts flat
  • Bush a light coat of the stiffening glue all over the cheesecloth
  • Drape gluey cheesecloth over balloon cups and adjust as desired.
  • Allow to dry.  A fan on low speed will speed up drying time dramatically.
  • Once dry, take a needle and pop the balloon and gently remove ballon from instead of ghost.  Reform head if necessary.
  • Optional step (spray paint your ghost with glow-in-the-dark spray or some other color)
  • Hot glue on googly eyes and other decorations
